7 Reasons Why Clemson Gamedays are the Best Days

1. Waking Up

There’s nothing like opening your eyes to your roommate screaming in your face “GET UP IT’S GAMEDAY” with a bottle of champagne in one hand and a bottle of orange juice in the other. Every student at Clemson knows that gameday starts the minute you wake up and if you’re not dressed head-to-toe in orange with a mimosa in your hand within an hour of waking up, you’re not a true tiger.

2. Tailgating

This on it’s own counts for like 15 reasons right there. There is absolutely NOTHING better on this planet than Clemson tailgating and it is truly an experience that you need to have yourself. These kids know how to get pumped up for the game and it can sometimes be a struggle to leave the tailgate for the game when you’re having so much fun.

3. The Clothes

Gamedays are the time to show your peers who can “out-spirit” each other. You will see kids in tiger onesies, tiger ears, and tiger dresses but no matter what, there will not be one soul walking around in any color other than orange or purple. It is really a sight to see when your peer out your window in the morning to see nothing but a flood of orange outside. And now with the new line, GameBaes, every girl on campus can be seen looking her best for those endless gameday pictures.

4. The Food

Hot dogs, trail mix, fried chicken… you name it and it will be within 5 feet of you. There is truly nothing better than stuffing your face with tailgate food to fuel up for the long and excitement-filled game ahead of you.

5. Kickoff

The only possible reason that actually gets people to leave the fun of the tailgates is to see the Tiger’s kickoff. With orange balloons flooding the air, the players running down the hill to the field, and the thousands of students screaming the fight song at the top of their longs, this is truly one of those times that makes you feel like you’re part of something huge.

6. The Game

Of course the game is just as, if not more exciting than the rest of the day! Every one in the stadium is a member of the Clemson family and there is nothing like watching Deshaun Watson score those touchdowns while repeatedly singing every single fight song or anthem that plays from the speakers. Of course, the best part is the end when the students rush the field to join the players so make sure you stay till the end!

7. The Afterparty

We are the Clemson Tigers, so obviously we won and will continue to win every football game we play, which makes the after party that much better. You know the kids are going to go crazy celebrating another move to the National Championship so clear the streets or join in on the party!
